An exile in Babylon,
first of the leaders,
to avoid rebellion,
later all of the people.
A psalm of anger, of hurt
of bitter lament, of railing at their fate.
A letter of hope, of trust, of faith
leaning on the will of God
Two choices of the people
anger or acceptance
to remain in covenant
to the promise in the garden
and on the mountainside
Acceptance
and trust in God
every day and wherever we are
