The Light Dying by Raymond A. Foss

In the cross, the crucifixion
the light dying, the sky darkening
the world going black.

The king on the cross,
hanging in pain
abandoned, forsaken
our sins did he bear.

When he breathed his last
and the curtain was torn
the light went out.
