Perishing Wealth - Poem by Raymond A. Foss

Like spoiled grain in the garners, the silos
His possessions, perishing wealth
the rich man choosing the world
unable to follow the Lord

Too much in the world,
of the world even more
his power, his station, his possessions
loving them more than the Lord

His wealth, his things ephemeral,
nothing of lasting worth
His choice to stay, not to follow
would leave him a sinner on earth
