calling his image to mind
remembering his face
As I was driving to the store
a man on the bridge
walking toward me
someone I know came
rushing forward
not this man but another
whose image I had not been able to remember
here rushing in, to my consciousness
real and present in my memory
and then others, the other parties
family members, some long dead,
each in turn coming into focus
remembering each face in turn
